new regional groups

From: Silent Doug (silentdoug@letterboxing.info) | Date: 2005-11-30 09:32:10 UTC-05:00
There are two new regional discussion groups recently formed. These
two groups round out the list of current letterboxing groups to cover
just about all the states in the continental US.

Letterboxing Midwest
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LetterboxingMidwest/
Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Dakota
and South Dakota (and possibly Kentucky?)

Letterboxing Southwest
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LetterboxingSouthwest/
Arizona and New Mexico

Here is a list of all known regional and state-based groups:

If you haven't yet joined a regional group, you're in for a nice
treat. The discussions on the regional groups focus on boxing in and
around your home base, and tend to be exceptionally friendly. Often,
these groups are where gatherings are planned, both large and small,
and where you can find others who are willing to join up with you on
letterboxing excursions.

Also, I have a list of all known personal sites of letterboxers here:
http://www.letterboxing.info/links/index.php?id=14
As you can see, some states are still without sites, so if you have a
site to add, let me know.

See you on the trails!

Hey Shh Doug,

Does my site count? www.poisonivy.150m.com/letterbox.htm.

(It needs some work, I know.)

Doug -

LBCNY (Central NY) and LBWNY (Western NY) combined this summer to
make: LBNY! Here is the link:

We have the largest wilderness east of the Mississippi River (The
Adirondack Park) with millions of acres of letterbox empty space. A
handful of intrepid boxers have begun to populate the mountains but
there is still a lot of virgin space.

We also have one of the greatest cities in the world...New York City
and our beautiful vineyards surrounding the Finger Lakes. We have one
of the deepest rivers in the country (the Hudson) and thousands of
waterfalls..including one of the most famous...Niagara Falls. Not to
mention beautiful farmland, miles of beaches, quirky small towns,
a "thousand" islands and tons of history. Is it any wonder we wanted a
group all to ourselves? :)

And one more for Georgia (though it's built on the page wizards and hasn't been updated
much): http://www.geocities.com/steves_1701
